Gosh...it's been AWHILE...

...Since my first post!

I'm really sorry to the person who looked at it. Really, I am. But you've got to understand! I've been busy, you know? With school and stuff.... I had summer school, stage managing, homework, volunteering, summer school, homework, volunteering, stage managing, camp, volunteering, homework, summer school, stage managing, and Hawaii. (The last one is one I actually like...and camp I liked too) Not to mention I started school on August 20th. Seriously. But I'll be laughing at all of you suckers when you get out on June 25th and I get out on May 22nd again. I'll already be done with my sophomore year, and you guys will have another month of it. HA!
I actually did have a decent summer, though. I enjoyed my volunteering and my stage managing. Homework and summer school, not so much. I took Chemistry. Ew. But like I said, my volunteering and stage managing were very enjoyable. I volunteer at the shelter for pregnant ladies who have no where else to go and I take care of their kids while the moms are busy doing whatever pregnant moms who have no where else to go do. Then, I stage managed a show called High School Musical 2 (Yes, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2!!!!) in my community. I'd never worked backstage at a show before, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I ended up really loving it and I want to do it again next summer! And not just for volunteer hours (oh yes, did I mention that I did stage managing for fun not for money? I would love it if I got money, but I'm not complaining-it was a great experience!)
I am loving school so far this year. It's fairly hard, but I like it. Thanks to my taking chemistry over the summer, I can now take two performing arts classes, both of which I am finding to be thoroughly enjoyable. :)
1.) Beginning Jazz Dance- fun, but I'm very uncoordinated...this will help me in later theater life though!
2.) AP World History-VERY hard...my first AP...I like it, but it's still the hardest class I have ever taken. Nevertheless, I love history and I find my teacher engaging to listen to in class. He kind of intimidates me just a tad.
3.) Concert Choir-we only sing worship music in this class, and I love worship music, but it would be nice if we could sing something else for a change so that all of the non-Christian people who like to come to our concerts can be entertained too. I think there should be a balance between the two.
4.) Bible-I love this class. It's very relaxing for me yet I still learn things. Yay.
5.) Geometry-FAIL! I am so bad at geometry it's amazing. I just don't get it. I'm more of an algebra person.
6.) Spanish 2- I actually love Spanish. Is that weird? Maybe. But who cares?
7.) English- I'm kind of indifferent to this class so far. We have to write essays, but the essay topics haven't been super duper interesting, nor has any of the homework been extremely hard. I guess I'll just have to wait for a bit and then judge the class.

In recent theater news...
-9 to 5 closes: Frankly, I'm sad about 9 to 5 closing but not completely surprised. It was only entertaining for adult/teen women/gay men who love Megan Hilty, Alison Janney, and Stephanie J. Block, and possible Dolly Parton. Straight men and little kids are not the main crowd for that kind of show (no offense to any straight men or little kids who love 9 to 5 and are reading this blog right now), and unfortunately, it's mostly families that make up the Broadway crowd. Same reason that Spring Awakening, Avenue Q, and [title of show] all closed as well. That and because our economy is in the pooper.

-Idina Menzel, Tony award winner for Wicked, and her husband, Taye Diggs, had their first baby last Wednesday. His name is Walker Nathaniel Diggs. Doesn't "Walker Nathaniel" sound like some duke or prince's name? "Duke Walker Nathaniel" or "Prince Walker Nathaniel"...
Anyways, I think this baby will be extremely cute, considering how good looking his parents are. I wish the Menzel-Diggs family good luck in the bringing up of Walker Nathaniel. May he become a wonderful and incredible person! I will also be praying for them. They'll need it.

I can't think of any other theater news.
